Introducing baby Hank

It is official, we are a family of 4!

I haven't updated the blog in a some time since we've been adjusting to our new normal. Our newest addition is baby Hank and what a sweet baby he is! I can't enough of those cheeks!

We are in love.

Hank was born May 31 at 1:08 am. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. I made it 39 weeks and one day. This was the last pregnancy picture I took. I didn't even have time to post it because we went to the hospital that same day with contractions.

Harvey's Rookie Year!

Our little man turned ONE!
I can't believe it, Harvey is 1!
Time to party!
We kicked off his birthday celebration with a pancake breakfast at IHOP. Harvey loves pancakes.
We celebrated his birthday with a baseball themed party. I love how it turned out! I made his smash cake and decorated it as a baseball. I whipped up some cream cheese frosting and baked a vanilla banana cake.
We invited family and Harvey's little friends over for a hamburger BBQ complete with all the fixins', watermelon, chips and concession stand goodies. I made vanilla cherry and chocolate strawberry cupcakes with baseball toppers.
Harvey got so many fun toys, books and big boy clothes!
He seemed to love the cake. At first he was a bit timid, dipping his finger in the frosting but then he got the hang of it and dug in!

This year has seriously flown by and it's been one of the best years of my life. I absolutely love being a mom and feel blessed to stay home and raise my little. Harvey is the sweetest little boy. He's so cuddly, totally a mama's boy and I love that. His laugh is contagious. He is curious, inquisitive and a smart little guy. We love him so much!

A BIG thanks to everyone who came to celebrate Harvey's rookie year!

Harvey's baby blessing

Brent blessed Harvey on Sunday in our LDS ward. It was such a special day for all of us! Harvey looked especially dapper in his Sunday best. We shared the moment with family members and enjoyed brunch at our house afterwards. I cooked up ham and spinach quiche, green chile and bacon quiche, banana walnut bread, pumpkin bread, fruit salad, fresh broccoli salad and cupcakes. (All the recipes on my Pinterest board). I am so grateful for the church and my family. Harvey is such a blessing in our lives and brings us so much joy!

He's here!

So our little man made his debut early! 5 weeks early! It's been a whirlwind the past month. Our little guy spent 9 days in NICU after his birth. His billirubin levels were high and he spent a few days under intense phototherapy and two days in the billi-bed. He had to gain weight and work on feeding. We were so happy the day we got to bring him home! I'll post the birth story later. Time is flying by! He changes everyday and we're loving this new parent thing. So without further ado, I introduce to you

You've had a birthday shout hooray!

It was another great birthday this year! I've convinced Brent that a birthday is not just one special day but 3-4 days of festivities. We began the celebration at The Roof Restaurant downtown. Their red velvet cake is to die for and the view is amazing! My family threw a little party for me (more cake!) Aside from the sugar coma, the best part was having my sis in town with her little boy! We all went to breakfast and of course, had to take a pic.

Grandpa Forester's funeral

Brent's grandfather passed away January 1, 2012. He was 95. We traveled to Southern California for the funeral. His grandpa was a WW2 veteran and given full military honors. It was a nice service and wonderful that the entire family attended.

Merry Christmas!

We celebrated a very, merry Christmas this year! Here are some pics from our family Christmas Eve party.

Christmas morning was so nice this year; neither of us had to work! We opened presents...

... Griz got a present, too!

We went to church and had a wonderful, music-filled meeting. I sang in the ward choir and Brent sang with the young men. What a happy Christmas! We are so blessed!

July Fun!

I love the 4th of July… and nothing is more fun than celebrating it with my family at the ballpark. The game was great. We ate pizza, peanuts and ice cream :) The Bees beat Las Vegas 10-9 and after the game… fireworks! Stef had to work the game and it’s always fun to watch perform her Honeybee duties. We had a great 4th!

Enjoying ice cream!

The Salt Lake Bees hosted the 2011 Triple-A All-star game on July 13th. Leading up to the game was all sorts of festivities, like the Home Run Derby and the Chris Isaak/Blues Traveler Concert. We went to the concert and had so much fun dancing and singing! Honestly, who doesn't love “Wicked Game"?

The following Monday was the Home Run Derby. I won two tickets from 107.9fm! Brent and I went and had a great time! Stef was also working that night, yay! We had Brent snap this picture. The Honeybee legacy lives on :)

She's 21

My little sis is 21! To celebrate this monumental occasion, we took a girls’ trip to Wendover. We stayed in a swank room at Montego Bay and that night hit the casinos in hopes of winning it big. I played roulette and blackjack for the first time. I won $4 but quickly lost it :( Wendover is also big on Keno. We played caveman keno… you can play for a penny and a dollar lasts forever! Still livin’ up the night, we ordered virgin daiquiris, the bartender said he'd have to keep on eye on us because we were too wild. We stayed up late laughing and eating cupcakes and ice cream. I am so grateful for my sisters. I love them so much!

Happy Birthday, Stef!

Cupcakes!

My mom and I are on the cupcake train.

We recently took a decorative cupcake class through Granite Peaks and it was two hours of sheer happiness!
We decorated cupcakes using three techniques. On the first cupcake we used tip 2D and created a hydrangea. It was super easy and looks so fancy!
Our second cupcake was my favorite... a cute orange monster!
We used tips 3 and 18. The eyes are gumballs with a dot of frosting. The crazy antennae are made with lollipop sticks and gumdrops... cute!
The last cupcake we made was a chrysanthemum. This one took some time but looks like a pretty Christmas flower. We cut mini marshmallows in half diagonally and dipped them in colored sugar sprinkles.

We had so much fun... I think we could open our own shop ;)

End of Summer

Without looking at the calender, you'd think it was still summer. Temperatures have been in the 80's, the sun is out and my dog doesn't need his coat. (This piece of clothing is necessary because he has fine hair and is small. I do not condone dressing up my animals as children.)
Sadly, I look at the calender and see that it is October. So, I must post my end of summer pictures.

Last Bees game!

This season went by so fast! This was my last week as a Honeybee this year. Go Bees!

Labor Day

We spent Labor Day enjoying a picnic at the Tibble Fork Reservoir with Brent's parents. It was a perfect day! Griz NEVER goes in the water, but he saw a duck and tried to go after it! We took a drive on the Alpine Scenic Loop to Cascade Springs. Water here flows out of the ground. There is a little path you can walk to see the springs.

Boldly going where no Griz has gone before.

Cascade Springs

Pay no attention to the outfit I am wearing. I was going for comfort.
